Well established metal tubing fabricator in Kirkwood MO has an immediate need for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our growing team.

This opportunity is multi-faceted and dynamic and will be exciting and challenging to any hands on engineer that doesn’t mind handling every facet of the electrical engineering process and getting your hands dirty in the process.

The Electrical Engineer will be working alongside other engineers, designers, product managers and maintenance in rebuilding, rewiring, new wiring, PLC’s, PLC programming, HMI’s, motors, circuits, wiring panel assemblies, robotic lines, new production line coordination and setting up all the electrical integration, etc. This person will also be handling some of the electrical maintenance and repair of industrial production machinery and equipment.

Projects New Equipment

  • Design all electrical circuits and fabricate electrical prints for new projects.
  • Design all air circuits.
  • Design hydraulic circuits.
  • Order all parts needed to complete project (PLC, Touch screens, valves, etc.)
  • Design and write PLC program for project.
  • Design and write panelview program if used.
  • Work with maintenance on assembly and wiring of new projects
  • Debug all electrical, PLC and air, hydraulic circuits.

Projects Old Equipment

  • Design all electrical circuits and fabricate electrical prints to install new components to existing equipment.
  • Design all air circuits for new components to tie in with existing equipment.
  • Order all components needed to complete project.
  • Design program changes for PLC if used.
  • Design program changes for panelview if needed.
  • Work with maintenance on assembly of new components and wiring.
  • Debug changes to new components to run on existing equipment.

Electrical Panels, Xformers

  • Design all electrical panels that are needed to be added to building.
  • Design all xformers and wiring needed to move equipment.
  • Order all components needed for all electrical drops, panels and xformer moves.
  • Design all air and water lines if needed.

Qualified candidates will possess a Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as an engineer. If candidate has another degree, you should have at least 5 to 10 years of experience.

Experience required:

  • PLC Programming
  • Machine wiring and wiring diagrams
  • Communications
  • HMI setup/programming
  • Duties will include both new builds and support for existing machinery
  • Basic hydraulic and pneumatic components
  • Mechanical presses
  • Required safety systems for custom machines and automation
  • Robotic integration (programming a plus)
